About Angie

Angie and the team at Opportunity to Gather is here to help you make your time with family, friends and your community better. What events are you working on? It is a PTA carnival? A fundraiser for a non-profit you are passionate about? A women’s event at your church? Maybe it’s “just” Thanksgiving dinner with your family! Whatever it is, come explore, ask questions and let’s make your time together great.

Experience to Share

Angie is passionate about people and the times that people are together. She also loves connecting people with solutions. This website was born from those two passions.

Angie has worked professionally in the event industry for 17 years, but her experience is much deeper than that. She is a pastor’s daughter – you learn a lot about people and events when you grow up in that environment. She has been on PTA committees leading out in fundraisers and events, she has been on leadership teams for women’s groups, she has hosted numerous wedding and baby showers and has planned and served in numerous of weeks of youth camp. She has planned trainings for teachers and has coordinated interpreters for international conferences. She has planned retreats and group trips and been on writing and planning teams for youth events both large and small. Her husband has been in the event industry for 24 years, but beyond professionally he has been doing events his entire life.

Professionally Angie has worked with corporate, non-profit and private/social events. She has done fundraisers including large galas and golf tournaments. She has worked as a wedding coordinator and a worked with a national ministry planning youth conferences. She has run conferences for industries focusing on safety, economic development, doing business with the military, sign language interpreting and leadership. She has worked with community VIPs, national speakers, entertainers and more.

Angie’s favorite thing about events is watching them come together and happen just as planned and occasionally pulling off the “impossible”.

Gathering is Important

In this age of technology, we need each other more than ever. We need to laugh and cry together. We need to support each other. We need to learn in community and rally together to support a good cause. We need to share experience live and in person with like-minded people and people who are radically different than us. Let us never take for granted the opportunity to gather.

A word from Angie

I loved making events happen before I even realized it was an industry. Why? Because I love the opportunity to gather – with friends, with colleagues, with family. I have learned so much through the years and I want to share it with you. Events don’t need to be stressful. I hope this site will give you confidence that you can . . . You can host the women’s tea at your church or women’s club, you can host a fundraiser for your favorite non-profit, you can plan the school carnival, you can lead the VBS at your church, you can host Thanksgiving dinner in you home for your spouses family, you CAN . . .

If you have any questions or topics you want to see addressed on this site, feel free to leave them on this site and I will be more than happy to help you out.

Together is better,

Angie
